About
I am a writer and educator with a fascination for human potential and the interconnectedness of our world.
After earning my degree in anthropology and political science from Syracuse University, I joined a team of international journalists in the newsroom of a bi-lingual magazine in Prague. In between my editorial duties and running a pet-sitting business, I traveled as extensively as my budget would allow. Learning from an array of extraordinary people while exploring the rich diversity of human culture taught me more than any course I'd ever taken.
Life would pull me back the U.S. years later when my mother became terminally ill. I took a position at an immigration law firm where I specialized in drafting extraordinary ability (EB-1A) visas, collaborating with exceptional scientists around the world. I relished in translating highly technical jargon into concise arguments demonstrating the pivotal importance of their research. During this time, I also co-authored an investigative piece on the Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) program published by the American Immigration Lawyers Association and had the honor of volunteering with No One Left Behind (NOLB) to record some of the personal stories of Iraqi and Afghan interpreters who had helped U.S. forces.
Still struggling for financial stability after the abrupt return to the states, I moonlighted as a bartender. All the while I faced daunting questions of meaning and mortality as the primary caregiver for my mother. When her fight was over, it triggered my own battle with burnout and unhealed trauma that became amplified by grief. This very personal journey would prove transformative. It ultimately brought me back to writing and ignited a new passion to explore what it means to be human, expanding my intrigue into areas of psychology, wellness, and the mysteries of the mind. It also inspired my work in psychedelic research and advocacy.

My education and professional background has yielded unique insight into history, politics, and culture. Life has piqued my interest in the intricacies of the human experience under the pressures of our rapidly changing society, as well as questions that lay at the intersection of science and spirituality – the edge of the unknown. There is no shortage of reasons to feel existential dread in today's world. Now more than ever we need to find grounding through self-realization and empathy for our shared humanity. We are so much bigger than the divisive systems in place around us. At the end of the day, we are just a bunch of bewildered homo sapiens trying to make sense of a vast universe, hoping to make the most of our brief time here. No one has this figured out. Be wary of anyone who says that they do.
Collaborating with Mollie has been a pleasure. She shines in the fields of Culture and Social Anthropology. Mollie's investigative prowess helps her craft compelling narratives about various cultures and social structures. She has a real knack for unearthing lesser-known aspects of social anthropology and cultural dynamics, making her work both enlightening and absorbing. ... If captivating, culturally-rich, and socially insightful content is your priority, Mollie warrants my strongest endorsement.

On Creativity & Writing
I have always believed that creative endeavors represent the pulse of humanity. People feel more distant from each other and themselves than ever before. It is art, music, dance, film, and writing that stirs our hearts, heals our souls, and connects us in this shared experience of Life. It is an expression of our existence, our very Being. Creative works have the power to reveal the meaning in all things, joyous or painful, and remind us that we are not alone.

Writing, my medium of choice, allows us to share our unique interpretations of the world - and to create entirely new worlds for others to explore. A well-told story can take the reader on a journey that shifts their entire thought pattern, forever expanding their outlook on life. We can ease pain, dismantle stigma, and foster empathy all through the written word.
I find it cathartic to write for any application, but I am inherently drawn to the profound impact of solid journalism and creative storytelling. I cherish thought-provoking content that incorporates compelling research and engaging firsthand experiences. My goal is to open new windows of perspective within the reader, shining a light on the intricate workings of our world and unveiling the value of every individual in it.

To quote the words of my late mother, a lifelong artist:
We must never lose sight of our innerness and need for the beauty that humans can create. We must try to accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative more successfully than we are currently doing in today's society. We must never lose touch with our ability to capture the rare fondness that is apparent in all life - to take the indescribable inner emotion to a level that everyone can understand, that being of substance.
